Last year,we debuted a "State & RegionÓ page,which,although appreciated,caught the wrath of readers as they wanted to see more local news in their weekly paper,leaving the state and regional news to the other communications devices.

We took your comments to heart,and starting with this week,our State & Region page will decrease in frequency.

Starting with the Jan. 3 edition ,this page will run only once a month,the first week of the month. If there are any stories breaking on the state or regional level,we will give you a local twist in that weekÕs newspaper so you can see how it impacts your lives.

HereÕs the schedule for the rest of the month"

¥ The second week of the month,or Jan 10,there will be a food page. Local recipes,reviews,recipes from area restaurants,and features. If youÕve got a favorite recipe,drop it off at our office or e-mail it to us. WeÕll use them.

¥ The third week of the month,Jan. 17,will be an entertainment page. Movie reviews with pictures,upcoming movies,entertainment listings and features on local bands will be on this page. Plans are still evolving for this page,and we welcome your suggestions.

¥ The fourth week is a promotion called "Talk of the Town.Ó WeÕll spotlight your town,including news notes,items from the local Chamber of Commerce and school stories which prove interesting to everyone in the surrounding area.

¥ The fifth week we will have a senior page. Local senior services,senior stories,profiles on area seniors will be a part of the page. We are catering to our senior population and,if I havenÕt said it already,welcome ideas for stories and pictures.
