ItÕs up to those of us who love and care about Clam Lake to help define the future for ours and generations to come and do all we can to maintain the lakeÕs beauty we all enjoy.ÓÊ

Over a two week period over 150 individuals indicated their support of Friends of Clam Lake.

The organization's mission is to be a responsible advocate of reality, truth and vigilance, with a focus on the continued quality ofÊ Clam Lake and the safe public and private use of this wonderful treasure in the Chain-of-Lakes. Their goals include protection of the water quality, safety, environment, wildlife and quality of life of all who live, workÊand play on Clam Lake through the dissemination of information and taking action on issues which impact Clam Lake.

Some of the organizationÕs current objectives include:

¥ Dewitt Marine withdraw their applicationÊwith the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, DEQ or the DEQ doesnÕt approve that application.

¥ Work with Dewitt Marine, adjacent and impacted property owners both on and off Clam Lake, and other associations to identify and agree to a win-win plan for Clam Lake that does not adversely affect the safety, environment and public use rights of Clam Lake.

¥ Continued and vigilant focus on Clam Lake issues.
