Aldyth Helen Tourangeau



Aldyth Helen Tourangeau, 89, of Bellaire, died in the early morning of Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was born May 16, 1917, in Detroit, the daughter of Fred and Opal (LaLonde) Ward. In February of 1942, in Royal Oak, she married Luke R. Tourangeau who died on Christmas Day of 1994.

She received her registered nurses degree at DetroitÕs Grace Hospital where she was employed thereafter for some time. She also worked at many nursing homes throughout the Detroit area.

She and her husband summered in Bellaire for ten years before moving there permanently in 1994 from Holiday, Florida.

She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Bellaire, and enjoyed sewing, her flower gardens and reading.

Mrs. Tourangeau is survived by two sons, Raymond of Hudson Beach, Fla, and Joseph (Barbara) of Royal Oak; a daughter, Mary T. (John) Guntzviller of Bellaire; a half sister, Veronica (Robert) Hadden of Seminole, Fla; seven grandchildren and thee great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers, Roy and Fred.

A graveside service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Bellaire in the spring of 2007.
