Lancers capture two convincing jayvee victories

SWORTH - Three Lancers hit for double figures to lead the Ellsworth boys junior varsity basketball team to a convincing 56-46 win over Mackinaw City on Friday, Jan. 12.
Pacing the attack, Nate Peterson scored 19 points, Tyler Ingalls added 13 points and Tyler Essenberg netted ten, including six for six from the free throw line. Nolan Howes contributed with ten rebounds and Ingalls pulled down nine.
The victory was the teamÕs seventh win without a loss this season.
"I think weÕve steadily got better as the seasonÕs gone along and I hope that we continue to do so,Ó said Ellsworth coach Kirk Ikens.

Lake City 63
Ellsworth utilized a balanced scoring display with five players in double figures to defeat Lake City 70-63 in a non-conference game on Tuesday, Jan. 9.
The Lancers were led by Peterson (17), Essenberg (14), Howes (13), Ingalls (12) and Tyler Strange (10). Ingalls and Strange added to the stat sheet with nine rebounds each.
"We played real well and we got a solid effort from everybody on the team,Ó said Ikens.
