o G. Hinzmann, 89, of Torch Lake Twp., died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Otto was born Sept. 21, 1917, in Detroit the son of Otto and Caroline (Roberts) Hinzmann. He worked for the Michigan Employment Security Commission for 38 years, retiring in 1983 as district manager of 26 counties. He attended Wayne State University and served in the US Army during WWII. He also attended the Elk Rapids United Methodist Church. He moved to Torch Lake Twp. in 1984 from Harbor Springs. On June 26, 1942, in Detroit he married Lorraine E. Ewald, who survives. Also surviving are five children, Shann L. (Timothy) Louis of Kewadin, Otto G. (Patricia) of Northville, Harry A. (Barbara) of Traverse City, Frederic J. (MaryAnn) of Atwood, Mark J. (Renee) of Dearborn, one brother, Gordon A. (Virginia) of Rochester, Minn., six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes, Pastor William Chu officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery, Torch Lake Twp.
