Nancy Ann Skinkle, 68, of Central Lake, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, in Zephyrhills, Fla.
Nancy was born Dec. 10, 1938, in Detroit, the daughter of Willard and Martha (Manning) Peura.
On Jan. 26, 1957, in Detroit she married Allen R. Skinkle. In 1969 they moved from Dearborn to Central Lake and together owned and operated Central Heating and Cooling for many years.
Nancy was a member of the United Church of God in Wolverine and President of the Central Lake WomenÕs Club for many years. She had also worked for the Antrim County Commission on Aging. Nancy was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing euchre.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years and six children, Stan of Ionia, Ken of Traverse City, Kathy Shepard of East Jordan, David of East Jordan, Karen (Jim) Haspas of Elk Rapids, John of Traverse City, two brothers, Robert (Martha Helen) Peura of Germantown, Tenn., Will (Debbie) Peura of Riverside, Calif, five grandchildren, ArVe, Jeff, Steve, David, Melissa, one great grandson ArVe, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Amy Ann Shepard and a brother,Paul Peura.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan 24, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with John Sackrider and Rev. Steve Schafer officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan/ 23 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Dunsmore Cemetery, Echo Township.
Memorials may be made to the United Church of God in Wolverine.
