Sheriff's Office continues search

ALBA -Shortly before midnight on Sunday, Feb. 3, a 23-year-old Alba male stopped to assist a stranded motorist along US-131 in the Alba area. But instead of asking for help, the motorist took out a handgun and demanded money. After taking his money and his medication, the motorist fired the handgun twice, striking the Alba man once in the upper arm.

The Alba man was transported by ambulance to Northern Michigan Hospital, where he was treated and released.

The stranded motorist is described as 6 feet tall, wearing a black hooded sweater and a baseball cap and driving a dark colored passenger vehicle.

As of Tuesday at noon, the Sheriff's Department had no further information on the suspect. Undersheriff Dan Bean said the broad description makes it hard to narrow down the search.

Anyone with information regarding this incident, are asked to please contact the Antrim County Sheriff Department.
