She was born May 23, 1931 in Boyne City, the daughter of Walter and Della(Baker) Carson.

On July 16, 1949, she married Richard Callesen in Boyne City, and they made their home in Mancelona. Mr. Callesen died in 2006.

Mrs. Calleson was employed at Lanzen Fabricating North Inc. in Mancelona for many years. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, reading, bird watching and walking in the woods.

Surviving are her children Marilyn (Jack) George of Little River, Tex., Sandra K. Smith of Traverse City, Richard (Lynda) Calleson of East Jordan, Dennis Callesen of East Jordan, Connie (Dan) Knaggs of Richmond, Ken., Lori (John) Moline of Dearborn Heights, William (Pam) Callesen of Mancelona, Joyce (Keith) Orman of Elmira; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother Boyd (Rose) Carson of East Jordan and sisters Fern Shaler of Boyne City, Elsie Carson of Warren and Susie Searles of Pellston.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
