He was born June 8, 1960, to George and Helen Pauline (Wilfinger) Bolton in Charlevoix.

Richard worked in the oil fields for many years around the area.

Besides his parents, he is survived by four sisters, Kathryn (Mike) Ring of Parma, Barbara Bolton (Jack Ross) of Encinitas, Calif., Carol (Richard) Fish of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Lorraine Bolton (Forest Miller) of La Jolla, Calif., nephews William Fish and Aaron Ring.
