Bellaire came first, as the Trojans earned the win, 18-25, 25-16, 25-22, 25-17. Powered by strong serving from Jessica Douglas, the Trojans won three straight after losing the first game and cemented an advancement in the bracket.

Gaylord St. MaryŐs was next on the docket, and Central Lake responded. Nikki Korb and Jessica Spence helped the Trojans earn the victory, 25-17, 21-25, 26-24, 25-13.

Next up in the finals was the always-tough Ellsworth Lancers , a team that Central Lake has had a few good spars with. Korb, Spence and Bria Patton led a balanced assault to garner the district title. The first game didnŐt start out well for the Trojans, as they lost 22-25. But they turned up the heat down the stretch as Korb ammased an impressive ten kills in the finals match alone. The Trojans won the next two games in close bouts, 26-24, 26-24. With the districts on the line, and one game to play, Central Lake didnŐt back down. They took the title with a match-ending 25-22 victory.

"I was really pleased with how the girls played," Trojans coach Elissa Wagner said. "They came into the districts wanting to win. ŇI was really happy we got to play two games before the finals because it made me feel like we really deserved to be there," Wagner commented.
