John was born on May 9, 1919, in Mancelona, the son of William and Sarah (Bartholomew) Robbins.

He was a resident of Mancelona his whole life and enjoyed camping and woodworking.

In 1944, he married Inez Baber who preceded him in death in 2001. Also preceding him in death were three daughters, PhyllisUnderwood, Alice Howes, Kay Justice, three brothers, Loren, Wilford and Otis as well as his parents.

He is survived by a son, Len (Wanda) Robbins of Berrien Springs, Mich., a daughter, Sandy (David) Hedges of Owosso, a step-son Roy (Phyllis) Baber of Buchanan, seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2007, at 3 p.m. at the Antrim Church of Christ in Mancelona. Yousef ÒYogiÓ Jabara will officiate. Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery in Mancelona. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 4, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
