Obituaries PUBLISHED: Henry was born on Oct. 28, 1917, in Grand Haven, Mich., the son of Matthew and Ida (Mineau) Ricksgers. Henry moved to the Ricksgers farm when he was 9 years old where he learned to do plenty of hard work, and being the only child, he had plenty to do. He enjoyed being with his family and took time out to hunt and fish whenever he could. Besides running the farm he was a supervisor and assessor for Custer Township for over 20 years and was a long time member of the Antrim County Farm Bureau. In 1943 he married Betty Huddlestone and they were married for over 64 years. In addition to his wife, Betty, he is survived by a son Robert (Brenda) Ricksgers of Alden, four grandchildren, Christina (Paul) Dewey-Broering of Alden, Patrick (Corrie) Dewey of Alden, Thomas Ricksgers of Phoenix, Ariz., Matthew Ricksgers of Atlanta, GA., and four great grandchildren, Seryna and Ciera Broering and Rebecca and Anna Dewey. He was preceded in death by a daughter Beverly Dewey and his parents. Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mancelona. Fr. Dale Magoon officiated. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church. Arrangements were handled by the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
