Against Gaylord St. Mary's last week, Patton had three RBI, while Zack Light added two more in the Trojans' 7-2 win in the opening game of the season. Patton was the pitcher of decision in the second game, but it was a lopsided 18-3 loss.

"The win in the opener, was a big big win for us," Central Lake coach Adam Grybauskus said. "That's a pretty good team."

Patton and Landon Waller teamed to lead the offense in their next doubleheader, against Inland Lakes Thursday. Both had two hits, but the Trojans dropped the first game 6-5. They rebounded in the second game, led by Patton on the mound, who pitched all six innings, striking out five in a 7-3 victory.

Central Lake dropped the Manton Invitational opener Saturday, to the tournament host, 7-3. Ryan Aenis pitched five innings for the Trojans, Wallen led the offense with two hits and two stolen bases.

Wallen and Patton led them past Harbor Springs in the second game, defeating Harbor Springs 113. Both had three hits for the Trojans, Brian Cannon had three RBI.

And despite a pair of home runs from Patton Monday, the Trojans lost two games at Pellston. He had five RBI in the first, an 8-6 loss. Then followed with three more RBI in the second game, a 65 loss.

"We need to stay focused, we're making young errors," Grybauskus said. "We're getting better."
