The Bellaire and Central Lake softball teams faced-off Thursday, with the Eagles winning the first game 12-11 and leading the second 6-1 before the game was called off to darkness.

In the first game, which lasted nine innings, the teams went to the international tiebreaker rule, putting a runner on base with one out. The Eagles scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth, to erase a two-run lead the Trojans had going into the inning.

Bellaire also erased a 2-0 deficit in the fifth inning, with seven runs. Central Lake responded with a run in the sixth and five in the seventh. Logan Edgecomb pitched the win for Bellaire, striking out six and walking three. She also had three RBI for the Eagles.

Michelle Edwards took the loss for Central Lake. Jenee Robert led the Trojans with three RBI, while Bria Patton and Whitney Moon added two each.

The second game went to the fourth inning, with Bellaire holding a 6-1 lead, before dark conditions forced the game's end. "It was too hard to see the ball," Central Lake coach Connie Spence said. "We did not want to risk an injury to a player."
