Robert Orman



Robert ÒJockÓ Orman, 81, of Mancelona, died on Sunday, May 6, 2007, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.

Jock was born on Sept. 5, 1925, in Custer Twp., the son of Henry and Minnie (Alexander) Orman.

Jock was a resident of Mancelona his entire life and was employed by Gulf and Western, now Dura Automotive.

He enjoyed many outdoor activities especially hunting, fishing, gardening and camping. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and telling stories.

On May 6, 1944, in Mancelona, he married Bernice ÒShirleyÓ Morningstar, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Shirley L. Scholl, of Mancelona, a granddaughter, Jacqueline (Greg) Pridgeon of Mt. Pleasant, a grandson, Michael (Christine) Schepperly II of Mancelona, two great grandsons, Dillon and Christopher Schepperly, both of Mancelona, a sister, Madge Howes of Mancelona, two brothers, Glenn (Ruth) Orman of Mancelona, John Orman of Texas and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Mary St. John, Sirvella Shepard, Lavina Mae Orman and a brother, Roy Orman. Memorial services will take place on Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at 3 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Pastor Ross Corne will officiate.

Interment will take place in Chapman Cemetery in Custer Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
