Steve Carl Krellwitz



Steve Carl Krellwitz, 50, of Cedar, Mich., was taken from us suddenly on Tuesday, May 8, 2007.

Steve was born on January 1, 1957 in Hancock, Mich., to Arthur and Dolores Krellwitz. He grew up in Warren but his heart was in the Upper Peninsula. Steve went to college at Michigan Tech and became an Engineer. While attending college, he met Bev Killman and they were married on Sept. 21, 1985, in Traverse City, Mich.

Steve enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and his friends. He also enjoyed boating, water skiing and tubing on the lake with his kids and all of their friends. He formed special bonds with his friends and family and was well respected. He had a personality that befriended almost everyone. Steve was devoted to spending time with his son Cody and daughter Jennifer, he was a wonderful father and a true role model for his two children.

Steve was employed as an engineer at Great Lakes Carbon Treatment Inc. of Kalkaska. He will be sincerely missed by all of his co-workers and the friends he made through work.

He is survived by his loving wife Beverly Killman; his children Cody and Jennifer; Father, Arthur Krellwitz of Christmas, Mich.; his two sisters Christine (Kevin) Lopez of Traverse City and Catherine Krellwitz of Warren, Mich.; sister in-law's and brother-in-law Katherine (David) Handke of Wisconson and Laura Killman of Copemish, Mich.; nieces and nephews; Christopher and Michelle Handke, Melissa and Sara Killman, Justin, Danielle, and Dylan Lopez of Traverse City; and his best friend Todd McCorkle of Traverse City.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother Dolores, his grandparents, and his brother-in-law Forrest Killman.

Visitation for Steve will take place on Monday, May 14, 2007 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Traverse City at 2 p.m. The Pastor Robert Zagore will be officiating the service. Memorial Contributions may be directed to The Diabetes Association of Michigan.
