Obituaries PUBLISHED: Stephen was a graduate of Litchfield High School and was employed as a machinist at Zero Check in Thomaston for the past 19 years. He was excellent at designing and custom making knives and sheathing. He was a perfectionist when it came to welding and took great pride in everything he did, whether that be woodworking, cooking, or helping others. Steve was devoted to his boxer, Tyler. He loved the outdoors and spent time hunting and fishing all year. He also spent many weekends in Canton visiting with family; and he will be greatly missed. Besides his parents, Stephen is survived by his twin brother, Kenneth Alan Jacques of Northfield, Conn.; two nieces, Kendra and Kaylee Jacques of Canton, Conn.; stepfather, Thomas W. Cables of Canton, Conn.; stepmother, Karen Jacques of Thomaston, Conn.; maternal grandmother, Maxine (Schaar) Spitza (James) of Bellaire; paternal grandparents, Edwin and Elsie Jacques of Wallingford, Conn.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Steve was preceded in death by his uncle, Robert Schaar, and maternal grandfather, Jack W. Schaar. Funeral services were held May 30 at the Lyons Funeral Home in Thomaston, Conn. Private graveside services were held in Northfield Cemetery. |
