Michigan Lt. Governor Don Cherry was the first
to pose with the flag flown over an Iraq-Afghanistan
border on Memorial Day. We want to take your
picture with this flag also, details in story below.

A few weeks ago, we ran a story about my high school
friend Jamie Baker, currently serving in the military.
The day the story ran, the Michigan native already was
receiving emails from those in other states, asking if he
was the same Jamie Baker, the article focused on, after finding
it in internet searches.
Since then, we've received responses from Antrim
County citizens, offering to send care packages to my
friend's unit.
To show their gratitude, Baker and his unit sent the Antrim
County News, the flag they flew over their base camp near
the Iraq-Afghanistan border, on Memorial Day of this year.
We now ask you, to visit our office on Bridge St., and
take your picture with the flag. Come alone, or in a group,
to have your photo run on our dedicated page next week,
which will be sent back to the unit later this month.
To get the ball rolling, Michigan's Lieutenant Governor,
Don Cherry, had his photo snapped with the flag, and we
encourage you to do the same.
Visit the office today, Thursday or Friday during business
hours, and have your photo taken. The photos will run
in next week's edition and the following week, is being
sent to my friend's unit, along with any items you want to
include.
Everyone reading this publication, is encouraged to come
in, to show support.
