father's Boy Scout
camp. In fact, it's not
even your older
brother's.
That's the common
reaction of Camp
Greilick alums returning
to the memories of their
youth at Northern
Michigan's oldest youth
camp, one that has been
serving Scouts and their
families since 1923.
Change is always in
the air at Greilick, and
though the individual
troop campsites are still
marked by the familiar
canvas tents perched
atop wooden platforms,
today's Scouts engage
in a far greater range of
activities than their predecessors,
and with facilities
that are continually
being updated.
"We have to keep the
environment challenging
and fun at the same
time," explains Tom
Stoeber, Scout Executive.
"We call summer
at Greilick fun with a
purpose."
Now catering to third
and even fourth generation
families of Scouts,
