She was born on Feb. 10, 1932, in Rapid City, the daughter of the late Benjaman and Grace Zimmerman. Goldie married the late John Gaylord on April 28, 1950.

She enjoyed reading, riding horses, fishing and cross country skiing. She also enjoyed seeing the country on many cross country driving trips. But, most close to her heart was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Surviving Goldie are her children, John W. (Bonny) Gaylord, James C. (Isabel) Gaylord and Michael R. (Dale) Gaylord, all of Rapid City, and Patrick L. (Michele) Gaylord of Alden; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and her brothers and sisters, Glennis Allen, Leone Bagnel, Benjaman (Edith) Zimmerman, Leo (Nancy) Zimmerman, Alberta (Jim) Zeman and Wanda (Dan) Tuller.

Preceding Goldie in death was her husband, John in 2003, and one sister, Jean Guy.

Cremation has been performed by Mortensen Funeral Homes.

A celebration of Goldie's life will be held at the Gaylord farm Sept. 6, 2008 beginning at noon. Family, friends and neighbors are invited.
