Dana E. Sudman, 57, of Mancelona, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008 at Lakeview Lutheran Manor Nursing Home in Cadillac.

Ê Dana was born Oct. 13, 1950 in Traverse City, the daughter of Elmer and Frances (Puckett) Evans.

Dana was a lifelong resident of Mancelona where she was active in the community.ÊShe was the Mancelona village clerk for 13 years, volunteered for the Mancelona Bass Festival, the hat and mitten program, and the White Pine Stampede, of which she was one of the founders 30 years ago.ÊShe is best described as a positive ambassador for the village of Mancelona.

She enjoyed watching movies, shopping, bowling and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by a brother David (Deborah) Evans of Leroy; two nieces, Kimmaley (Scott) Burch of Interlochen and Kristy (Allan) Adsit of Coopersville; two great nieces, Emmaley Burch and Piper Adsit; two great nephews, Cecil Burch, Evan Burch.ÊAlso surviving are two special cousins, Cecil Puckett of Mancelona and Mary Craanen of Trenton as well as several other cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services took place Monday, Aug. 25, 2008 at 2 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.

Interment took place in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice or to St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids.
