Obituaries PUBLISHED: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Mancelona United Methodist Church. Rev. Eugene L. Baughan will officiate. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Mancelona. Biehl was born on July 26, 1952 in Mancelona, the son of Arthur L. and Virginia (Archer) Biehl. He grew up in Mancelona and graduated from Mancelona High School in 1970. On Oct. 10, 1970 at the Mancelona United Methodist Church, he married Wanda Kizer. He owned and operated, with his family, Art's Turkey Farm in Mancelona from the early 1970s until 1990. Art also held various management positions for Glen's Markets from the 1980s until his retirement in 2003 due to illness. Artie had worked in stores in Boyne City, East Jordan and Mancelona. Art was a member of the East Jordan United Methodist Church. Artie enjoyed fishing and NASCAR. He was a fan of Tony Stewart. His greatest love was entertaining his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Biehl of East Jordan; two sons, Doug (Crystal) Biehl of Mancelona and Brian Biehl of East Jordan; three grandchildren, Ryan, Leachel and Nick Biehl, all of Mancelona; his parents, Arthur L. and Virginia Biehl of Mancelona; two sisters, Shirley (Glen) Near of Saginaw and Kathy (Mikel) Schultz of Eagle River, Alaska; and one brother, Jerry (Karen) Biehl of Torch Lake. The family received friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan. Memorials may be given to East Jordan United Methodist Church or the Hospice of Northwest Michigan. |
