Obituaries PUBLISHED: Dr. David E. Hansen officiated services at Walsh Funeral Home, Roscommon, Sept. 19 at 1 p.m. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, St. Helen. Memorial donations may be made to the family. Mr. Bailey was born in Mancelona Sept. 21, 1917, the son of Andrew and Gertrude (Abbott) Bailey. He had lived in St. Helen since 1980. He had also lived in Ann Arbor for four years, having moved from Mancelona. He and Berniece C. Schepperley were united in marriage June 6, 1938 in Mancelona. He worked as a plating supervisor for Mt. Clemens Metal Products in Mancelona for 28 years. He also served in that capacity at Scycor Industries in Ann Arbor for four years and retired in 1980. Mr. Bailey was a past member of the Mancelona Methodist Church. An accomplished singer, he was a member of the church choir and the Norton Male Chorus in Flint. Preceding him in death were six sisters and three brothers. Surviving are his wife, Berniece of St. Helen; two children, Dexter Bailey of St. Helen and Connie Schreur of Arcadia; three grandchildren, Amy and her husband Coy Vaughn of Chelsea, and Tom and Judd Bailey of Seattle, WA; and four greatgrandchildren, Evan, Logan, Sam and Ellie. |
